Halloween 2010

Halloween was a little different this year because of it being on Sunday which means no trick or treating. But we still got a lot of candy from the trunk or treating church party on Friday. On Monday we carved pumpkins. The girls had a school parade for all the kids wearing their costumes on Friday. Jaxson had a preschool party also. For costumes this year we had Zac as a hobo, Lauren a hippie, Mallory a baby, Jaxson as Ironman, and I was a very sad looking Harry Potter.

Disneyland!

I'm back! Sorry Dad but your 15 minutes of fame are over. Last week was Disneyland and we had a ton of fun. Even though it wasn't very great weather we really enjoyed it. The definite favorite was Thunder Mountain Railroad which Jaxson even loved. Space Mountain was not such a great experience for him. We had some tears on that one. My personal favorites were Indiana Jones, California Screamin', Tower of Terror, and of course It's a Small World. It was pouring all day Tuesday so we ended the day early. We went back to the hotel, got dry, and then went out to lunch at Ruby's (thanks Morrell's!). We raced back to Disneyland to try to beat the rain and the very second we walked into Downtown Disney it started raining again! So we just shopped in the rain for a little while. I think that a lot of the kids had more fun shopping than actually going on rides! We spent every shopping in Downtown Disney. Mostly we bought a lot of candy and caramel apples and things like that. Legos and keychains were also very popular.

Happy 10th Birthday, Lauren!

Last month, Lauren turned 10 years old and had a candy themed birthday party with family and a few friends. Some of the activities included a life size game of Candy Land in the backyard -

a guess how much candy is in the jar game -

a candy word scramble (who knew anyone would figure out Whatchamacallit) -

and a candy treasure hunt. Everybody had a ton of fun and left with a lot of candy.

Lauren's birthday wish list was simple - Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Lincoln, please.

Blogger's Strike at the Wrights

Maddie has been on a blogger's strike for about the last month. Apparently it takes a month of Sundays for pictures to download, and then sometimes the pictures download and sometimes they don't. Either way, she's mad as "h-e-double hockey stick" and she's not gonna take it any more. So against my better judgement, I guess I'm gonna have to take things into my own hands to keep the blog stalkers updated (I don't see Jules jumping at the opportunity, she's too busy texting). - Matt
